How to make progress during the holidays

The holidays used to stress me out SO much when it came to balancing all the festivities, food, and my fitness goals.

It took me YEARS of trial and error to find true balance to be able to enjoy food guilt free, but also know how to prioritize myself and my goals!

I want to share some tips with you to hopefully help you enjoy this holiday season without neglecting yourself and your goals!

WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS

This might seem super obvious, but having your goals written down somewhere to constantly look at and remind you of what you're working towards is SO helpful!

Whenever you're feeling like self sabotaging yourself and givining into all the treats every single day, or skipping the gym because it's cold, or saying F**k it to you macros for the day because you had a cookie at a work party.... you have your goals that you created and wrote down to remind you of what is REALLY important.

PLAN AHEAD

Decemeber is FULL of social gatehrings and family parties that are all surrounded by LOTS AND LOTS of food. You can enjoy all the events and even the food, but you just have to plan ahead.

Figure out how many events you have going on, what days they're on, where they are going to happen, the kind of food that is going to be there, etc. The more details you find out the better. The easier it will be to decide how you want to enjoy them. You don't have to eat every single thing at every single event. Choose the one's you want to based on when they are in the week or the food they're serving that you have been looking forward to, etc.

There is give and take when it comes to balance.

KEEP A ROUTINE

Don't fly by the seat of your pants and hope things work out. Don't hope you make it to the gym. Don't hope you hit your macros 80% of the month.

MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Create a routine and stick to it.

This goes with planning ahead, but if you really want to enjoy yourself and make your goals a priority, you will have to say no to some things. But also don't forget to plan out when you are going to relax, sit back and enjoy!

ZERO PRESSURE FOR PERFECTION

Take the pressure off of yourself to be perfect. There is NO such thing. Especially when it comes to balance. Remember that this time only comes around once a year, so make time for people, events, and good delicious food.

But also remember that movement and the gym makes you feel good, so don't neglect taking care of your body and mind as well. Make time for you and your goals. You will thank yourself come January 1st, that you already have this routine down and don't feel the pressure of new years resolutions.

Just a few simple things I have followed every year that always set me up for success.

I hope this helps you too!
