TSA Approved Foods While Traveling To Colorado

You can stay on track while traveling, it just takes a little preparation and knowing the TSA approved foods!

It's super easy on a road trip because you can stop pretty much wherever, whenever you need, but it gets a little trickier when flying.

There are specific TSA approved foods that security allows you to bring. There are actually a lot of TSA approved foods you can travel with on a plane.

During my competition seasons, I was able to stay fully on track even with multiple flights in a day.

Obviously I was on a strict plan, but I still always travel with food when I travel. I feel better and it's a heck of a lot cheaper.

I want to share with you my TSA approved foods I travel with AND all the little tips and tricks I have when it comes to traveling with food and staying on track!

TSA approved foods: What foods you can travel with:

Lunch box with built in ice packs that you can travel with on a plane
PACKIT Lunch box

First off, you need something to carry your food in! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PACKIT!

TSA approved foods: Bowmar Nutrition Protein Powder, Quaker Oatmeal and Pride Foods Cream of Rice
Protein powder, Oats and cream of rice

Next, focus on DRY foods! NON liquids. You can bring literally any food that is dry! Even frozen! (this is another tip I will talk about later!)

TSA approved foods: Apex Meat Sticks, bananas, apples, Uncle Ben's Ready Rice, Organic raw carrots
Meat sticks, banana, apple, raw veggies, rice

TSA approved foods: Quaker Rice cakes, Starkist Tuna packets, Justin's single serving nut butter, single serving mixed nuts
Rice cakes, Tuna, Nut Butter, Mixed Nuts

EX: Dry oats, cream of rice (CODE LEXI SAVES, protein powder (CODE LEXI SAVES), rice, rice cakes, crackers, fruit, bread, etc.

You can even bring pre prepped meals like sandwiches, rice, meat and veggies, protein bars, meat sticks (CODE LEXI SAVES), tuna/chicken packets, and single servings nut butter.

Pre prepped meals, pre made deli sanwiches, Bowmar Nutrition protein brownie, RX bar, Cliff Protein Bar, Quest protein bar
Pre packed meals, pre made sandwiches, protein bars and snacks

You can even sauce your meals beforehand. Just make sure you don't have liquid larger than 3oz.

You don't have to make everything super gourmet and glamours, but you can make it work! It really just comes down to taking a little extra time to plan and prep a few things.

Some other tips and tricks for traveling on a plane with TSA approved foods:

  • Use ice packs that don't turn into liquid

  • Freeze meals for other days to use as additional ice packs and let them thaw while you travel

  • Use frozen rice packs as ice packs

  • Pack healthier/cheaper snacks (protein bars, nuts, fruit, tuna packets, meat sticks, string cheese, protein powder)

  • Pack protein powder and add to coffee when you get to airport

  • Pack single serving of dry oats and protein, get hot water at coffee shop, add oats and protein and voila, you have a warm bowl of protein oats! (You can even top with your single serving of nut butter and fruit! Now that's actually pretty glamorous :) )

  • Pack food in baggies to save space

  • Don't forget utensils!

Traveling and staying on track is SO doable and does NOT have to be stressful!

Hope this helps!!

xx
