Over half our body is made up of water! We literally NEED water to function.
Most people only drink 32oz of water a day.
The recommended amount of water is 90 to 100oz of water for active women, and I would even go as far to say everyone can benefit from a gallon of water a day (128oz).
So, what does water do and why do we need so much?
Water helps:
deliver oxygen to parts of the body
make hormones and neurotransmitters
bring nutrients to the cells
get rid of waste
protect joints and organs
maintain body temperature
digestion
AND MORE!
We literally need it to function properly and optimally. If you love an active lifestyle, you need even more!
If you have ever been dehydrated, you know the feeling and how bad our bodies function physically and mentally, so it may seem quite obvious how much your body needs.
But, if you're someone who isn't used to getting in enough water yet, you may not realize the benefits.
How to make drinking more water easier:
start your day with 16-20oz right when you wake up
buy a reusable water bottle (drink a certain amount per day/per hour)
add EAAs or electrolytes for some flavor and added health benefits
use a straw!
Start small with increasing your intake. It will make it a lot easier, and trust me, once you start drinking more water, you will want to continue because you will realize how much better you feel and how much more efficient your mind and body are!
Bloated? Drink more water.
Brain fog? Drink more water.
Low energy? Drink more water.
Constant cravings and "snacky" feeling? Drink more water.
You body needs it!
Hope this helps!
